Damage assessment of buildings and structures

We assess the condition of damaged buildings and determine whether their restoration is possible and worthwhile, so that further work and costs can be planned.

  • Site visit with visual inspection, or remote review based on photos
  • Analysis of collected data, with a damage model where needed
  • Preliminary report: work stages and feasibility of recovery

Technical survey

Surveys of buildings, structures and utilities

A dedicated team surveys industrial and civil facilities of any complexity. The survey shows the actual condition of structures, the scope of reconstruction, required strengthening and whether the facility can stay in service.

  • Visual inspection on site
  • Instrumental testing: material strength, grades and classes, reinforcement detection, moisture, geometry
  • Structural analysis with a 3D calculation model for complex facilities
  • Additional special investigations: geotechnics, geodesy, laboratory testing (as part of a full package)

Design

Design documentation at every stage

From concept or feasibility study to design and working documentation. We work in a full BIM cycle: drawings and schedules come straight from the information model, so quantities are accurate. The client can view the model during development and follow each stage.

3D and BIM models

Models of buildings, utilities and equipment

We build BIM and general 3D models from measurements, existing drawings or laser scanning (point clouds). Our models have been used in completed reconstruction projects. BIM managers lead modelling and coordination.

  • Autodesk Revit: buildings, utilities, equipment layouts

  • Navisworks: federated model and clash detection between disciplines and with existing structures

Designer supervision

Support during construction and installation

The engineers who designed the project visit the site and check that reinforcement, frames and equipment installation follow the design. Contractor questions are resolved on the spot, without delays.

  • Checking that foundation reinforcement and concreting comply with the design
  • Supervision of steel erection, welded and bolted connections
  • Checking that precast concrete erection complies with the design
  • Support during installation of process equipment and its fixing to load-bearing structures
  • Participation in inspections of concealed works and critical structures
  • Review of proposals to substitute materials, structures and equipment
  • Clarifying design decisions and resolving technical issues during construction

A model instead of a stack of drawings

Steelwork, gas ducts, furnaces, chimneys and entire districts. The model gives accurate quantities, shows clashes before work starts on site and stays with the client for operation.

A team trained at major design institutes

AV-Koncepcia LLC was founded in 2017 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. We work in architecture, engineering design and site investigation, including technical surveys of structures.

We deliver turnkey design for civil and industrial facilities: from collecting site data and preparing the design brief to expert review support and designer supervision during construction and installation.

All work is led by certified engineers, and staff hold the required qualifications. The core team comes from the largest design institutes. The company holds the necessary certificates, permits and survey equipment.

Our team brings together chief project engineers, discipline leads, chief specialists, structural designers, lead engineers and engineers of all grades. Our specialists have grown from producing drawings and calculations to managing project delivery and designer supervision. Each of them has many years of experience and deep expertise in their field.

Specialist knowledge, hands-on experience and close teamwork are the foundation of our company. We keep an open working dialogue with the client, their technical departments and expert review bodies at every stage of design.
